Nanfang College, Guangzhou, an application-orientated comprehensive university approved by the Ministry of Education, is committed to building a premier applied university with distinct features. As the flagship of diversified higher education development in Guangdong Province, the university is also a pilot institution for comprehensive reform of the higher education system in Guangdong Province. Notably, it is one of the first pilot universities in Guangdong Province for the transformation of general undergraduate colleges.
The audio solution provided by Takstar perfectly fits the tiered multifunctional hall at the college, which primarily hosts important academic lectures, subject competitions, and teaching training, as well as serving as a conference venue. With a concrete slab ceiling, brick walls, and a floor area of approximately 300-400 square meters, the hall has a 2.2-meter-high suspended ceiling. This solution aims to achieve sufficient sound pressure, satisfactory clarity, uniform sound field coverage, rich and natural sound quality, and eliminate echo interference.
The primary goal of this design is to deliver a satisfactory acoustic experience. Detailed acoustic requirements were specified, and corresponding measures were formulated to ensure the final result meets all acoustic design requirements. Multiple full-range speakers, the EKS-101, are distributed to provide uniform coverage for each seating area with their high-sensitivity drivers and 100° H × 55° V coverage. While ensuring clear speech, the EKS-101's smooth frequency response also presents the fullness and layers of music, meeting the dual needs of academic presentations and multimedia playback. Powered by the appropriate EKA-406N four-channel professional amplifier and other peripheral equipment, the system effectively reduces the interference of unwanted reflections, achieving the expected sound reinforcement effect.
To ensure system stability and high-fidelity sound output, the solution is equipped with the XR-0612FX analog mixer and EKX-408 digital audio processor. The former handles multi-channel input signal gain adjustment, tone processing, and overall mixing, while the latter provides refined digital processing, including equalization, compression, limiting, crossover, and delay correction, eliminating noise and distortion, and compensating for the distance difference between speakers and listeners to ensure a unified sound image.
The UC-4R wireless microphone configuration includes both conference-style and handheld options, paired with the TS-AD antenna system for 100-meter long-distance signal transmission, accommodating fixed speeches by teachers or guests, as well as interactive Q&A sessions. The FE-224N feedback suppressor, with its 24-band parametric EQ and frequency shift technology, constantly monitors and eliminates the risk of howling, maintaining the purity of speech even during multi-person interactive discussions. The smart power management of the EPO-802N power sequencer, which centrally controls the start and stop of equipment, simplifies the daily maintenance process and enhances the long-term reliability of the system.
Takstar's audio solution for the Nanfang College combines the sound field environment and human auditory perception, using scientific modeling to develop a precise acoustic plan. The overall sound pressure level is stably maintained between -1.0 and -2.0 dB, the clarity index reaches 1.0-3.0, and the reverberation time is precisely controlled within the ideal range of 1.1-1.4 seconds. Designed with a focus on both acoustic performance and practical functionality, the complete system creates a modernized teaching space with professional sound reinforcement and multi-scenario adaptability for both faculty and students.
